During the 30 Years Later Expedition I will be painting or sketching every day, on site, in all kinds of weather, all across Canada. Proceeds from sales of my work will go directly to support the Expedition, as we revisit places that my husband Dr. Frederick W. Schueler and I have explored on our travels throughout Canada over the course of 30 years of biological exploration.
Each new Biodiversity painting will be available for purchase as soon as it is posted on this blog. E-mail me as soon as possible if you are interested at karstad@pinicola.ca . The price for a standard 5 x 7 miniature is $250 (plus taxes and shipping), and increases with size, for example, $450 for 11 x 14.
SPECIAL OFFER! For a limited time only, online purchasers of paintings will be receive a discount of $50 on each painting, regardless of size. You will find a "Buy Now" button at the end of the journal account for each painting that is still available for sale.

Your purchase of one of my little plein air oils or onsite watercolours encourages me to keep painting! Your support pushes us ahead to explore and document changes in the landscape and ecology of Canada throughout this International Year of Biodiversity and into 2011. You can read all about the project at the 30 Years Later Expedition
As soon as we garner enough support, we will embark on the western leg of the Expedition to the west coast of British Columbia, revisiting Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii, painting all the way. This collection of miniature plein air paintings will be impressive in its diversity and geographic scope for years to come.
I hope you enjoy your own one-of-a-kind collectors item for this exciting cause!
Yours for art and Biodiversity
Aleta Karstad
